Monte-Carlo, The Principality of Monaco, is famous for its Formula 1 Grand Prix as well as its casino and refined lifestyle. It is frequented by extremely large yachts, which are quite the spectacle in the harbor. Was once dubbed a "sunny place for shady people" because of its banking confidentiality policies. The land of James Bond style glamour is enjoying a sort of renaissance lately. It hasn't been a favorite of the real jet set crowd in years.
How to get there: The closest airport is Nice, only 11 miles away. Marseille, Turin (Italy), and Genoa (Italy airports are all within 120 miles distance and/or 2 hour car rides. The official language is French, but Italian and English are widely spoken.
Time difference: 6 hours ahead of US East Coast.

Best Time to Go: Temperatures hover between 80 and 90 degrees F in both July and August, but the large crowds make it hard to enjoy. Highly recommended in June (water still cold though) and September. May is also a good month for Montecarlo especially if Formula 1 is your passion. Make sure to book your trip well in advance for car racing events, though.
What to Wear: Monaco's weather pattern is very similar to cities like Atlanta or Charlotte. Hardly going below 50 degrees in the winter. It's always recommended to wear light but stylish clothing. This is not the kind of city to wear shorts and jeans 24/7.
Where to stay: In the five star class, we recommend the Hotel de Paris, Fairmont Hotel and l'Hermitage. In the four stars class, Le Meridien Beach Plaza, Metropole Monte-Carlo and Le Mirabeau Hotel.
