Linen has long been a favorite fabric to have close to the skin. From the Flax plant, linen is a natural fiber and is actually stronger than cotton. It feels cooler and more comfortable against the skin. Linen does not lint and is naturally hypoallergenic and moth resistant. Linen has been shown to have a calming effect on babies. Fussy babies tend to sleep more soundly on linen sheets. Perhaps due to its being natural, hypoallergenic and fresh feeling.

Linen sheets may be laundered without harmful effect to the fabric. Linen becomes softer and more comfortable with continued use. Negatives such as wrinkling can be mitigated by repeated washings, which relaxes the fabric to the point of becoming more user friendly.
