How to get there: 8 hour direct flight from Los Angeles and 12 hour direct flight from New York on Air Tahiti Nui. Both flights land in Papeete, French Polynesia's capital on the island of Tahiti. All other islands are connected from the Papeete airport (Airport Code: PPT) through local flights

What to Buy: Black Pearls (98% of the world's black pearls are cultured here) for earrings buy them loose and have them mounted in the states, beautiful pareos, fun shell jewelry, vanilla.
What to Wear: Casual for day: Swimsuits with pareos or similar cover-ups, shorts, T-shirts, sandals. Evening can be relaxed too, but women tend to dress a bit more, skirts and sandals with a little heel or dressier flats. Resort type dresses that are more cute and feminine than bombshell are appropriate. There will be mostly other couples around, and very few single visitors.
