 100% Linen
Linen fabric has many characteristics which make it more desirable than cotton for bedding. It is stronger when dry (and when wet) than cotton. It is cooler than cotton due to its heat conducting properties and freshness- making it a Summer favorite. It absorbs 25% more water than cotton which makes it feel more comfortable and cooler against the skin.
Linen does not lint, is naturally hypoallergenic and moth resistant. The fabric may be laundered or dry cleaned without harmful effect. One negative of 100% linen is that it wrinkles very easily. Laundering over time relaxes the fabric making it wrinkle less. Linen actually becomes softer with repeated washings and use.
Some products (particularly apparel) may be sewn in such a way as to render them dry clean only. However, all Bellora linen cases, shams and sheets and duvet covers shown here can be laundered. It is recommended to take them out of the dryer when the items are still slightly damp and smooth them out carefully while folding for less wrinkles. Of course, ironing may be necessary if you desire a more perfect look. Note: ironing is also easier when the items are slightly damp. (St. Tropez linen cases and flat sheet shown at left)
For durability, comfort and elegance, linen is hard to beat!
